A huge throwback to my old blog, where the content I shared was more fashion-heavy, I dedicated my time to exploring the trends and discovering smaller brands, and Fiji Fashion Week was always a highlight for me; I was excited to catch the creativity and unique styles of designers from the Pacific, especially being half Fijian myself; I was proud to use my small space on the internet to showcase these stunning collections.

Fiji Fashion Week was started in 2008 by founder and Managing Director Ellen Whippy Knight; due to its immense success, they decided to move the location of the event from Denarau to the capital Suva; I can hardly believe that it has been over ten years since I attended Fiji Fashion Week back in 2012; it was still in its infancy; fast forward a decade later, and the growth of Fiji Fashion Week has been nothing short of staggering.

The event has become a highlight on the fashion calendar, attracting designers and industry insiders from around the world; more notably, it has given a platform for local Fijian designers to showcase their work on a global stage.

For this year’s Fiji Fashion Week, it was a delight to see how each collection and designer beautifully demonstrated their ability to weave together tradition and modernity, creating looks that were both captivating and meaningful; there were many interesting and exciting looks to choose from.
